Confirmation

Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation is a process that involves both youth and their parents and is distinct from ongoing faith formation and youth ministry.  Its purpose is to prepare families for the celebration of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the Rite of Confirmation and for fuller participation in the Body of Christ. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1212) teaches us that, “The faithful are born anew by Baptism, strengthened by the sacrament of Confirmation, and receive in the Eucharist the food of eternal life.”

This process serves as immediate preparation for Confirmation.  It breaks open the “Word” and the “symbol” of the rite through a study of the scripture, symbols, gestures, music, and ritual text that is associated with the sacrament.

"After study, consultation, and prayer, I have decided that the age for the Sacrament of Confirmation for children in the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee will be moved to an earlier age. Beginning in 2025, we will be moving gradually and methodically toward a "restored order" of the Sacraments of Initiation that will be completed in 2028. Practically speaking, this means that children, around the age of discretion (7), will receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist (First Communion) at the same Mass when properly catechized and disposed." - Most Rev. IMPORTANT NEWS: Due to the Restored Order of Sacraments, in 2026 Confirmation is open to all 5^th through 12^th graders who have received Baptism and First Eucharist.  There will be separate sessions for Grades 5-8 and Grades 9-12, however, all will receive the Sacrament together.

MANDATORY PARENT MEETING:  August 24, 2025 at 5:00pm in the Craft Room located in the Ministry Center.

Confirmation Prep Class Dates: September 7, 2025, September 28, 2025, October 5, 2025, November 2, 2025, November 30, 2025 and December 7, 2025

MANDATORY Confirmation Rehearsal: January 4, 2026 at 4:00pm in the Church

​CONFIRMATION MASS: Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 5:30pm Mass. ​

Print Registration Form here. You may drop it off at the parish office, leave it in the Sunday Offertory (in and envelope marked Confirmation), bring it to Sunday Youth Group or the first session.  Classes are held in the Youth Room located on the back side of the Ministry Center.

POLICY REGARDING SACRAMENTS OF PENANCE, EUCHARIST AND CONFIRMATION

Diocesan policy states that these sacraments are to be received in the parish of which the candidate is a member. The catechesis must take place in the parish community and not at a local Catholic school; hence our sacramental catechesis is separate and distinct from our faith formation program.
